Self-taught photographer Steve Terrill,
a native of Portland, Oregon, has been trekking throughout the United States
since 1980 with his main focus on the Great Northwest, seeking to preserve
on film the grandeur of nature.

Steve's career began in April 1980 when he was hired
by Beautiful America Publishing as one of their staff photographers. His career literally exploded in May when
he captured the eruption of Mt. St. Helens on the morning
of May 18, 1980. Later that same year, one of Steve's photographs of the eruption was presented to President Jimmy Carter while he was in the northwest to view the destruction caused by Mt. St. Helens.

In 1982 Steve left Beautiful America Publishing to pursue a freelance photographic career and since that time his work has been published in numerous books, calendars and magazines including Audubon, National Geographic Publications, Sierra Club, National Wildlife, Outdoor Photographer, Travel & Leisure, Nature’s Best and Reader’s Digest. He was a contributing editor at Outdoor and Travel Photography and is a field editor at Country magazine. Steve is also a regular contributor to numerous Oregon Tourism Publications.

Steve captures his subjects with 35mm, 2 1/4, 6x17, and 4x5 formats film cameras and has also added digital cameras to his equipment.

He has over 60,000 images on file ranging from the intimate details of nature to the explosive 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens. If you are seeking a stark deep blue sky of an arid summer day or a misty autumn forest draped in a veil of fog dripping with dew, Steve has it in stock. Perhaps you are searching for a wildflower meadow bursting with an array of colors or a rustic quaint setting of an antique water pitcher filled with cut flowers resting on a country chair, he has it to fill your needs. Cowboys driving cattle through a snow covered countryside, dew clinging to a blade of grass with hues of mixed colors in the background, an explosive sky of morning light, to subtle colors and textures of smooth river rocks covering the shoreline; they are available at your request. Steve's photography not only captures that moment in time but his work takes you on a visual journey to the location as if you could feel the summer heat beating on your face, hear the roar of the pounding surf against the rocks, taste the tart huckleberries clinging to the bush or smell the fragrant springtime wildflowers engulfing a field.

So just contact us with your request because not only does Terrill have numerous photos in stock he is constantly adding new images and subjects to his files on a regular basis. The collection of images displayed on his web site is only a small portion of his vast catalog.

"Most skilled and talented landscape photographer that is Oregon-grown. Steve's eye and talent that capture the magic that is Oregon is only surpassed by the love affair he has with his home state. His photos are heart-felt moments that you'll cherish forever."
